History Of GATE Acronym

History of GATE Acronym is interesting. Multiple Entrance exams were conducted for admission to post-graduation in Engineering before 1984. This was a huge burden for candidates and organising institutes. So, in 1984 Ministry of Education(MoE) of India decided to conduct only One Entrance Exam named as GATE Exam.
