GATE Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026 has been released by IIT Guwahati along with GATE Notification 2026 onย  official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. GATE Exam eligibility criteria 2026 is different for different courses.Condition covers details such as nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and more. Candidates have to note that GATE Exam Eligibility criteria 2026ย  is different for different courses. It includes academic qualification, like a bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering or Technology, or a Masterโ€™s degree in a relevant science field. Education Qualification
  • Candidates must have passed graduation in engineering/technology or a Masterโ€™s degree in any relevant science subject.
  • Candidates in pre-final or final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to appear for GATE 2026
  • Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India: Must be currently in 3rd or higher years or have completed their Bachelor’s degree (duration: at least 3 years) in Engineering / Technology / Science / Arts / Commerce.
Age limitย  There is no age limit for GATE Exam 2026ย 
Attempt limitย  There is no restriction on GATE attemptsย

Candidates of any age can apply for GATE Exam if they fulfil required GATE Exam eligibility criteria 2026. There is no GATE age limit 2026 for appearing in GATE Exam 2026. But Educational Qualification is Essential for applications.

There is no specific percentage of marks required at time of GATE Application form 2026. Candidates scoring any Percentage in undergraduate studies can apply for GATE Exam 2026 as mentioned in GATE Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026. But during Counselling in M.E. / M.Tech, Candidates must have 60% or 6.0 CGPA marks in their Bachelorโ€™s degree for general candidates. For other normalised categories, there is relaxation in required percentage.
