Challenge Process for CSIR NET Answer Key 2025

CSIR NET answer key can be challenged if candidates find any errors. The process to challenge the answer key is as follows:

  • Identify the Discrepancy: Review the answer key carefully and identify the question(s) with errors. The candidates must be sure that the answer provided is incorrect or ambiguous.
  • Fill in the Objection Form: Candidates need to log in to the portal where the answer key was published and fill out the objection form. They need to select the question(s) in which they believe there is an error.
  • Pay the Objection Fee: Candidates must pay a nominal fee for each question they challenge. The amount is generally around INR 200 per question (subject to change). Ensure to pay the objection fee through the provided payment modes.
  • Submit the Challenge: After completing the form and making the payment, candidates must submit their objections. The NTA/CSIR will review these objections and decide whether to accept or reject them.
  • Final Answer Key: After reviewing the objections, the CSIR will release the final answer key, which will not be subject to change. The final answer key is used to calculate the candidates’ scores.

Steps to Challenge CSIR NET Answer Key 2025:

  • Visit the Official NTA Website:
  • Login to Your Account:
      • Click on the option that says “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key.”
      • Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, then input the security pin as displayed, and submit.
  • Access Your Answer Sheet:
      • Click on “View Answer Sheet” to see your marked responses.
      • To view or challenge the answer keys, click on the “Challenge” button. You will be able to see the provisional answer keys.
  • Review the Question Details:
      • You will see questions listed with their respective Question IDs in sequential order (e.g., Question No. 1/Question ID 703110).
      • The correct answer for each question will be displayed under the ‘Correct Option(s)’ column.
  • Identify Dropped Questions:
      • Any dropped questions will be highlighted. These questions are not available for challenge.
  • Challenge the Answer Key:
      • If you wish to challenge an answer, you can select one or more Option IDs from the options provided in the next four columns by clicking on the checkboxes.
  • Upload Supporting Documents (If Required):
      • If necessary, you can upload supporting documents. Click ‘Choose File’ and upload all documents in a single PDF file.
  • Submit Your Claims:
      • After selecting your desired option, scroll down and click on ‘Submit and Review Claims’ to proceed to the next screen.
  • Review Your Claims:
      • A summary of all the Option IDs you have challenged will be displayed on the next screen.
  • Modify or Finalize Your Claims:
      • If you need to modify your claims, click ‘Modify Your Claims’. If you’re satisfied with your challenges, click ‘Final Submit’.
  • Save Your Claims:
      • After finalizing your claims, you will see a screen displaying the challenges you have submitted.
  • Payment of Fee:
      • To complete the process, click on ‘Pay Now’ to pay the fee for your challenges.
      • The fee is Rs. 200/- for each question challenged.
  • Choose Payment Method:
      • Select your preferred payment method (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI) and complete the payment.
  • Confirmation:
      • After successful payment, your challenges will be saved, and the process will be considered complete.

CSIR NET Answer Key and Result Calculation

CSIR NET answer key helps in calculating the result, but candidates must keep in mind that the final result is based on the official final answer key. To estimate the score from the answer key:

  • Know the Marking Scheme: CSIR NET exam follows a specific marking scheme where Part A has +2 marks for each correct answer and a penalty of -0.5 for every wrong answer. Part B has +3 marks for each correct answer, and Part C awards +4 marks for every correct answer.
