Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC NET 2023 exam is conducted twice a year by National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Mode (CBT). It is one of the hardest exam that is conducted in India and is conducted for over a total of 83 subjects.
CSIR UGC NET 2023 exam is just aroud the corner and you’ll have a better edge if you are familiar with the exam patter. There are a total of 120 questions with a maximum of 200 marks. It contains Multiple choice questions and is divided into three parts mainly Part A, Part B and Part C.
Part A is same for all subjects and tests the general aptitude of the candidate. On the other hand, Section B and C contains subject specific questions.
The 3 Sections of CSIR UGC NET
- Part A shall be common for all subjects. This part contains 20 questions of general aptitude out of which only 15 questions will be taken for evaluation. Each question carries two marks with a negative marking of 0.5 marks.
- Part B shall contain subject related conventional MCQs. This part contains a maximum of 40 questions out of which only 25 questions will be taken up for the evaluation. Each question carries three marks with a negative of 0.75 marks.
- Part C shall contain subject related conventional MCQs. This part contains a maximum of 60 questions out of which only 20 questions will be taken up for the evaluation. Each question carries 4.75 marks with no negative marking.
