About CSIR NET Exam
Joint CSIR UGC NET is test being conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian national’s for teaching Eligibility/Lectureship(LS) and for Junior Research Fellowship in Indian Universities and Institutes, Subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid by UGC. Online Applications for JRF/NET are Invited Twice a year on all India basis through Press Notification of Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF and LS.
- NET – National Eligibility Test for LS & JRF
- LS (Lecturer) provides the eligibility criteria for the appointment of lectures. JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), Provides a stipend to research scholars.
- The number of qualifying candidates depends on the number of fellowships available and performance in the test.

Eligibility
- Candidates with a M.Sc / M.Tech degree or students in their last/third year for the same courses can apply.
- There is no upper age limit to Lectureship but if a candidate has to apply for JRF then there is a upper age limit of 31 years where relaxation is available as per reservation.
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen to apply for the examination.
